So Monsieur Roy may be Colorado's new bench boss. My question is: if this is legit, will he be able to keep his temper in check, or are we going to see some epic bench meltdowns and Tortorella-like press conference rants?

If I were a member of the media, it'd be Christmas morning for me. Well who knows, maybe he's found a way to handle the crazy.

What do you think? Is Roy ready to coach at the NHL level? I'm sure soon enough he'll be telling any doubters he can't hear them because his Stanley Cup rings are in his ear.

What if he can't hear the refs because, you know, of all his Stanley Cup rings?

Norbot didn't hear you because Ktown was bragging too loudly about his 2 FHL cup rings.

Honestly I think Roy is a too much of a hothead and I think that will get in the way of his Avs having success.

Could be entirely possible. Sometimes going nuts works, as a tactic out of the Sather Playbook: take the heat off the players.

But I can definitely see Roy's volatility has the potential to cause trouble for him and team. I see a few fines and bench minors in his future.

Another Tortorella would be exciting. I love listening to his interviews. I don't think Roy will be that bad though.

Time to scratch the "bot". No bot pays attention this poorly.

Nah. NorBot is good. ;)

Roy sounded remarkably composed and focused in the press conference. Entirely different when in the aftermath of a lost game though.

So Tortorella joins Vigneault and the others in the coach graveyard. He's comedy gold. I wonder who will pick up Torts and who will replace him. Heard some speculation that NYR may be considering Mess for the job. I don't know about that... I've heard too many bar stories about him not to believe he's pretty much a douche. Anyway. Interesting times.

Bar stories about Messier? In Vancouver? No wonder you'd heard bad stuff then. I doubt Messier is a douche.

I am not so sure he'd make a great coach yet, but he was a good leader.. I doubt he'll get hired as coach there though. Maybe assistant, if new guy approved.

Didn't want to start an entire new thread for this, but please please please:
http://blogs.theprovince.com/2013/06/17/tortorella-must-convince-canucks-he-can-drop-some-baggage-in-second-coaching-interview/

For sheer entertainment value... If I have to be inundated with Canucks-related media, I might as well have fun doing it.

A switcheroo would be interesting too, if MacKenzie is right about Vigneault signing with NYR. And he usually is.

Tortorella coaching the Canucks might teach the team there to stop being a bunch of diving pussies and win the game like everyone else does (minus the L.A. Kings).
