Re-signed today.. 7 years at $6.5M per. That puts him in around the Zdeno Chara money. Dude was nearly a ppg player last year, which is fucking amazing.. especially on a team like the Sens. At 22, he's extremely young and thus, you'd figure, still developing. As we know, the pressure of living up to a contract can be pretty overwhelming. But I think he'll be worth the money in the long run.

Now he has an actual Norris trophy under his belt... pretty impressive for a 22 year old drafted in the middle of the first round.

'Eastern' bias strikes again, last 2 years Weber should have won.

I don't know... I love Weber and say he easily could have won... but you can't deny the amazing season Karlsson had either. Now that the near-perennial winner has retired, there is a good chance Weber will finally get his name on the trophy in future years.

I remember in the pool I had Erik Karlsson as my next pick, during the one round, and then I almost had him too if it wasn't for those meddling kids. By meddling kids I mean Trogdor (I think), Rundblad was my backup and what I was hoping to be Karlsson this season...

Crazy contract, that's for sure, good on the kid but I'm not sure how good he actually is defensively. Would you put him out the last minute/minute and a half of the game?
