Yesterday in his post game presser Krueger was asked about the shooters he picked for the shootout and said those questions would have to be directed to Goaltending coach Freddy Chabot because he is fully in charge of Shootouts.

I really like how we have a shootout specialty department run by our goaltending coach . Earlier in the week Krueger was talking about how important shootouts were going to be in this shortened season and the team looked really prepared for it last night. You can tell that they had spent a significant amount of time on it in practice/training camp.

Also, I was very surprised when that Eberle's name was not in the mix when they announced who the first 3 shooters for the Oilers were but I can't complain with the results. 2 saves and 2 goals!!!! Hey if any of our coaches should know anything about other teams goalies tendency's it should be Freddy. Good Job!!!

I agree, that is a pretty good idea to have the goaltending coach running the shootout department. Really, he just needs to find 3 proper handed players and show them that specific goalies' weakness or tendency. For everything a head coach sees, a goaltending coach probably notices ten-fold

I think it's fantastic too, I think I read somewhere that the Oilers were one of the last NHL teams to adopt a program like this that focuses on shootouts.

Two years ago I was certain that the Oilers were going to be the first team to have a player (Omark) on the active roster for shootout purposes only. Great shootout player, junk hockey player
